Experience Japan Beyond the Tourist Trail Through Seasonal Cooking
Join Haruka, a certified bilingual Gut Health Coach, for a market-to-table experience. Shop for seasonal ingredients, cook together in her traditional Japanese home, and leave inspired to bring more seasonal cooking into your own kitchen.
What Makes the Seasonal Table Experience Unique?
This is more than a market tour. You'll discover, prepare, and enjoy seasonal ingredients from Northern Kyushu while finding inspiration to bring seasonal cooking into your own home.
What makes the Seasonal Table Experience different?
There is no set menu. We'll visit a local indoor farmers' market and let the season inspire what we cook and enjoy together.
Learn about Japanese food culture through Northern Kyushu's seasonal produce and discover ideas you can adapt using ingredients available back home.
Gain confidence cooking from scratch with seasonal ingredients and simple homemade preserves.
Leave with fresh inspiration and a new perspective on cooking as a creative, enjoyable part of everyday life.
Where Are We Located?
We are located in Kyushu, Japan's southernmost main island. While many travelers focus on Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, Kyushu offers a more local side of Japan with beautiful landscapes, hot springs, and incredible regional cuisine.
Kyushu is easy to reach by bullet train from Kyoto or Hiroshima in just 2–3 hours, making it a great addition to your Japan itinerary.

Who’s My Host?
This Seasonal Table Experience was born from years of working with food, seasonal produce, and community.
While living in Okinawa, I hosted farmer’s market tours for military-related Americans living on the island, helping them become more confident with seasonal, local produce.
Now based in Northern Kyushu, I’m surrounded by an abundance of fresh ingredients. Cooking with them - and preserving them in jars - has become one of my greatest joys.
This led to a simple idea: bringing guests to a local indoor farmer’s market I personally shop at, selecting ingredients together, deciding what to cook, and then preparing a seasonal meal in my home.
My hope is that this experience inspires you to feel more confident with seasonal produce, and to continue these habits long after you return home, supporting your health and wellbeing.
